Kristy Jones

Title: Vice President
Exordium Professional Since: May 2004

Personal Background:

Kristy was born and raised in West Michigan.   She grew up in Kentwood along with her three brothers.  Like many people whose family has deep roots in West Michigan most of her extended family lived within a 10 mile radius.  This meant many family gatherings and cherished memories that some families only reserve for holidays.  Kristy married her husband Dwight in 1999.  She went on to earn a degree in secondary education and taught middle and high school.  They live happily in Grand Rapids with Lola, their very spoiled (yet well trained…) Yorkshire terrier.

Educational Background:
Grand Rapids Community College
Associate of Arts, 2000

Cornerstone University
Bachelor of Arts, 2004 Major in Social Science and Communications

Industry Certifications Held and Pursuing:
State of Michigan Secondary Teacher Certification
Toshiba…
Microsoft Certified Trainer

Hobbies & Other Stuff I Like To Do For Fun:
Kristy enjoys practicing yoga and entertaining delusions that she could run as fast as Dwight.

Biggest Career Break:
Hands down, teaching seventh grade in the little town of Algonac.  She says, “I lived in this little town all by myself for the first time.  It was completely trial by fire and the scariest thing I have ever done.   It was the first time I ever had to be courageous personally and professionally.   I was a very young teacher asked to make 125 adolescent boys and girls move in the same direction.  If you have 1 teenager you know how difficult that can be.  But I did it and I loved every moment of it, even the really scary ones.  It proved to me that I really CAN do anything.  In the course of my years teaching I learned to be good business woman, a good friend, a good leader and a better citizen.  It was my biggest career break because it completely reshaped who I am and gave me perspective that I never had before.  I’m forever grateful for that opportunity.”

Voted Most Likely To…find a typographical error.

If I could have any superpower I would choose…I already have a super power, the power to teach.

I remember when…my brothers and I would fight over the cable “slider box” before remote controls.

In my opinion, the greatest invention of our time is…SPANX!
Favorite Quote…
“The pain of discipline is always less than the pain of regret.”
